Meadowood's Pet Friendly policy

**Pets are only allowed at Meadowood
Cottages and Cabins do not allow pets at this time.

The 'staff' at Meadowood

Our humans went to the mountains and all we got was locked in a cage!

They guard your home, protect your family and love you when the world doesn't know your name...

Show your pooch you appreciate that and bring 'em along for the trip!

Here at the Meadowood Bed and Breakfast, we are dog lovers too. As a matter of fact, Darin was a dog handler in the U.S. Army.

We know how it feels when you get to take a trip and you can't take the whole family.

Thanks to our new pet friendly policy, your four legged family members can come for the stay as well and be treated to dog treats, a comfortable pet bed next to yours and of course all of the fresh mountain spring water they can drink!

***This policy does not apply to 'Georgia on My Mind' which is our 'pet free' room.

The canine host staff.

Quido and Charlie will be tripping over each other to make you and your pooch feel welcome!

In the past, on the occasions that we have made exceptions to the 'old' pet policy, Quido and Charlie were even more thrilled to have other pooches to run with than they usually are with our two legged guests.

So we're 'staff'? When is payday?

Now hear this!

There are some rules....
**No Exceptions**

The individual guest is 100% responsible for their pet. We will have you sign a release stating so. If fido doesn't get along with other dogs or humans, we can't have that risk.
Dogs will never be left unattended in the rooms and should stay out of the common areas. Physical leashes are required at all times you are not in your room.
Weather permitting they can be tethered to one of the trees with some water during breakfast and other meals as long as they are not disruptive. Otherwise, they will need to wait in the car during meals. We will check on them for you periodically and depending on the situation may offer to take them for a walk for you.
We have a huge front porch that they can relax on with you though, and we recommend a relaxing walk to the spring for a drink and a romp along the trails and around the pond during your stay.
Muddy paws happen and we will make sure there are clean towels for you to clean and dry their feet with before coming inside.

Additional charge of $25 is required for your pet to stay- that is per stay, not per pet or per night.

***We reserve the right to refuse occupancy to any pets and/or ask that they be removed at any time if necessary.

"I was wondering..."

What about Melvin, my kitty cat?

Sure, Melvin can stay, but will need to remain in your room and if you are not in the room Melvin will need to stay in a travel kennel- we have a small one for our cat that can be used. You will need to bring along a litter pan!

What other pets can I bring?. Is my 35 foot Python welcome? How about 'fluffy', my pet rattlesnake?

Unfortunately, we can't allow exotic pets such as those to stay unless they can remain secured in your vehicle.

I'm a Falconer, can I bring my raptor?.

Darin says 'Of Course!' Darin is studying to take the apprentice exam under a local falconer's tutelage. He would welcome the opportunity to host you and your bird. There are two rules on this one; first, the bird must stay in a giant hood while in the house and second Darin gets to talk your ear off! Because of the giant hood requirement, the cleaning fee is waived.

What about my horse?

Unfortunately, we can't let Mr. Ed sleep in the room with you, but we would love to have you bring him and can provide space in the fields for them to graze and spend the night.

Does the pet policy include the cottages or the cabin?

No, it doesn't. Pets cannot be lodged in the cottages or the cabin at this time.
