And what a day it was…

04.29.07

The fishing has been great for me this season; knock on wood, but I haven’t been skunked yet! Yesterday was no exception when I had the extreme pleasure of taking John and Stephanie Tucker from Richmond out for the day. They are the owners of Glass-Backwards

by the way, a stained glass design studio that they started themselves- check out their work and tell them Darin sent you by. They do all kinds of custom and restoration work in stained glass; we are working on having them do some custom work for us in the future.

They were without a doubt the most dedicated crew I’ve had out this season- and that is saying something! The water was down a bit, which made me leery. I had excitedly told Steph that I was sure we would have the perfect day and the bite should be awesome. As it ended up, we had a somewhat post frontal situation which puts the fish into a virtual coma.

Fortunately, John and Stephanie persevered and we did not come back without anything to talk about! In addition to 4 or 5 little smallmouths and what I am sure was a trophy Muskie that cut through the line as we were trying to land it ( we had it on top of the water, next to the boat), these two fishing fiends caught these sweet smallies:

John’s first smallie of the day- a nice 3 pounder!

John’s second smallie of the day- another 3 pounder!

Steph’s 4 lb, 19 inch smallie!
