Once again I will be the MC at the Floyd County Fourth of July Celebration sponsored by the Floyd County Merchants and Businessmans Association.

It will, of course be on Tuesday, July 4 and will go from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Floyd County High School Baseball Field.

Fireworks will start shortly after 9 p.m. and if they are only half as good as last year they will be fantastic.

Admission - $1 per person. Children 6 and under free.

There will be a Best Patriotic Dress and a Best Blanket contest with prizes so ‘dress to the patriotic nines’!

Also, the Floyd County Rescue Squad will be doing blood pressure & sugar checks as well as a mock emergency demonstration.

The Floyd County Vol. Fire Dept. will be doing a firefighters competition among the four stations late in the evening.

There will be music, fun and fireworks.
